Camp Kemo Story

A local hero at 9 years old, Cole Sawyer, was diagnosed with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare form of cancer. After 16 months of courageously fighting his disease Cole died on November 6, 2004. During his illness, Cole had many wonderful opportunities but none as special as Camp Kemo. It is a week long camp for cancer patients and their siblings to enjoy lots of camp activities and share experiences together. Cole loved his time at camp especially because everyone was normal to him. Camp Kemo meant so much to Cole that he was involved with fundraising events and since his death his family and friends participate each year supporting the cause. Thank you for your involvement with the WildeWood Fitness Run and keeping Cole's memory alive. GO COLE GO!
